Okay, Black Ops, I'll give you this one chance...

Steam is offering a free weekend for Black Ops. Well, I've been itching to get ahold of a newer shooter. Now, I'm terrible and have no idea what I'm doing, but I'll give it a try.

I've never stepped foot in a map on Black Ops. I've never pulled the trigger and I've never even though about getting the game. I know that I'm behind the curve and it's a lot like Halo. Each game adds on just a little bit, but keeps enough of the same stuff that the old pros can hop in and kick ass with ease. I don't look forward to getting facefucked for a few days, but I would like a shot at playing a new FPS and getting a good idea of what I can expect from the future.

I plan on getting BF3, because I believe it will be a front-runner for PC gaming, especially on the FPS side. MW3 may catch a few eyes and be a huge success (again), but I've not really enjoyed the pacing of CoD for a while. BF has always held an edge of CoD due to the extra stuff that it has. Vehicles and destroyable environments together... OH LAWDY!

I'm gonna give Black Ops a shot this weekend. Not because I am sure it'll be the next thing I buy, but because it might just be fun. Who knows.

Also, GO MAVS!

  1. I enjoyed the campaign immensely. The facial movements on the characters are phenomenal. They used motion capture for them.

Call of Duty used to have vehicles in their multiplayer back in United Offensive, but dropped them in succesive games. Why? I don't know, and its pissed me off ever since.

I'll get both battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3, but so far, I've preferred Call of Duty's campaigns to Battlefield
