No, not the end of the world. I'm going to start piecing together a new PC. This takes time, research and a whole lot of planning. My wife doesn't get it, but those of you hard core folks out there understand.

Right now I plan on going with a Sandy Bridge CPU, I'm thinking 2500K. I am pretty sure that will sate my urge and still be a bargain later this year early next year. Unless Intel comes out with a gamechanger, in which case I will be forced to change my mind.
